I'm an illustrator based in Sacramento, California. I received my BFA and MFA (concentration on Illustration) from CSU Fullerton. Depending on the project, I work in ink, watercolor, acrylic, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
I've spent a good deal of the last 13 years as a graphic designer/illustrator and my design experience gave me an intimate knowlege (not that kind of intimate!) of Quark, Pagemaker, InDesign, color management (ala ColorSync), color correction, and EPS art. Because of this, I know how to take my art and put it into the kind of files that can make glad the heart of a graphic designer.
I worked for the University of California's Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources in their Communication Services department. There I illustrated and designed agriculture books such as the California Master Gardener Handbook and Wine Grape Varieties in California, as well as marketing materials and posters. My love of gardening and fascination with bugs dovetailed nicely with the subject matter of the materials we produced.
Currently, I'm concentrating on children's books and educational material, editorial illustration, Harvey Mudd College's unofficial mascot "Wally Wart", along with fun illustrations for the adult education market.
